Xhafer:

Welcome to last time on.

Xhafer:

This is the podcast for people who wanna watch all that prestige television.

Xhafer:

But, uh, who's got time for all that?

Ben:

I know I don't,

Xhafer:

I'm Aire

Ben:

and I am Ben

Xhafer:

and we are in season five, and this is episode seven that

Xhafer:

we've watched of Breaking Bad.

Ben:

Mo we are moving like a freight train through, uh, through Breaking

Ben:

Bad.

Xhafer:

speaking, we've been rolling in that like six through eight range.

Xhafer:

If we hit any one of those, I think if we hit seven or eight, there aren't

Xhafer:

enough episodes left after this.

Xhafer:

So we'll like have one and then we won't have to roll.

Xhafer:

We'll just be at the finale.

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

It's just auto, auto finale because we will be watching the finale.

Ben:

We are not just gonna go and don't know how it ends.

Ben:

We're starting three episodes into the next show.

Ben:

We are crazy.

Ben:

We are not monsters,

Xhafer:

yeah.

Xhafer:

So no, we're gonna watch the finale, then we're going to go back and watch

Xhafer:

what is generally considered the most acclaimed episode of the show as

Ben:

provided we didn't already watch it.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

If we didn't already watch it, if we did, then the second most using either

Xhafer:

personal recommendations from friends, feedback from our audience, imt B ratings,

Xhafer:

we'll figure it out when we get there.

Xhafer:

Um, and then we're going to do a series review episode where we read what actually

Xhafer:

happened and go over that and we'll read that together for the first time.

Xhafer:

And record it and see how right or wrong we were.

Xhafer:

See what we missed, see what we didn't.

Xhafer:

Finally

Ben:

that our version was better.

Xhafer:

Learn that Walt didn't have an addiction to making

Xhafer:

Thermite in the actual show and used to solve all of his problems.

Xhafer:

The,

Ben:

I think that that would've been a better show.

Xhafer:

well, we don't know.

Xhafer:

It might have been the show

Ben:

It might, we, as far as I'm concerned, that is the show.

Ben:

You don't see a character for three episodes.

Ben:

It's because they got therm.

Xhafer:

truth, that's how we roll here on last time, on Thermite Everywhere,

Xhafer:

which is gonna be really hard to explain when we go to 9 0 2 1 oh after this.

Xhafer:

we don't know what we're doing after this yet.

Ben:

No, we, we, we need to come up with some kind of system.

Xhafer:

Yeah, we'll figure it out later.

Ben:

I actually, I have a pitch.

Xhafer:

Oh,

Ben:

we made a preliminary list of shows, that I'm sure it was on a, it was on

Ben:

a napkin or a piece of receipt paper, uh, at a, at a restaurant we were at,

Ben:

uh, did we put that into a spreadsheet?

Xhafer:

I can try and find it.

Ben:

Okay.

Ben:

Because I, I know if you leave you alone with a list for more than five

Ben:

minutes, it ends up on a spreadsheet.

Ben:

So

Ben:

I was just assuming,

Xhafer:

actually in in Fun facts, I recently found the initial pitch

Xhafer:

document for this podcast before we had done Draft the Universe,

Ben:

oh,

Xhafer:

like the one I had written up back in like 2016 when I first

Xhafer:

had this idea or whatever it was,

Ben:

neat.

Xhafer:

2015.

Xhafer:

I don't, I forget.

Xhafer:

Um, and it actually had a list of shows, some of which I've watched by now.

Ben:

Oops.

Xhafer:

A West Wing was on there, ruined that.

Ben:

Dang it.

Ben:

Dang it.

Ben:

Your fair.

Ben:

Cause I also haven't seen any West Wing,

Ben:

so that would've been, that would've been, totally doable.

Xhafer:

Yeah, regardless.

Xhafer:

Uh, so I have that old list.

Xhafer:

I should have that receipt paper somewhere on my desk.

Xhafer:

I think it's under this pile of vet documents that I just needed.

Xhafer:

yeah, it's around.

Ben:

But my suggestion was whoever got the most points from our, predictions, they

Ben:

get to pick the next show from the list.

Xhafer:

That works for me.

Xhafer:

I

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

It's, it's also better than my idea of, loser Gets, Rick flair chopped,

Xhafer:

I was not a big fan of that one.

Ben:

Woo.

Ben:

All right, so to today's episode,

Xhafer:

we've got season five, episode five, dead freight.

Ben:

Once again, we are opening in media Desert.

Xhafer:

That's a thing.

Xhafer:

We've got this kid dirt biking around the desert.

Xhafer:

He gets a spider in a glass jar

Ben:

A

Xhafer:

and it's, it's pretty clear, Werner Harza is back, but

Xhafer:

playing with color this time.

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

Now I had to ask how long into this sequence, cuz it's about

Ben:

what, 92nd, two minute sequence.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Ben:

How long before we actually see this kid's face?

Ben:

Were you sure it was Jesse?

Xhafer:

I was just like, who the fuck is this?

Xhafer:

Why the fuck do I care?

Xhafer:

More importantly, how the fuck did that kid see a tarantula

Xhafer:

while dirt biking 15 feet away?

Xhafer:

Cuz that's some bullshit.

Ben:

That kid's got laser eyes.

Xhafer:

the fuck was that glass jar?

Xhafer:

He like pulls it out of his pocket.

Xhafer:

Like he wasn't just riding a dirt bike with it up against like

Xhafer:

No, that's not how this works.

Ben:

I just, if anybody in this show is giving me dirt bike energy.

Ben:

It's Jesse

Ben:

like, I totally could picture a moment where like, Jesse gives off the vibes

Ben:

of the guy where it's like you asked him to come over to your house to help you

Ben:

move a, a bookcase to your cousins, and he shows up on a dirt bike and you're

Ben:

like, what happened to your truck?

Ben:

And he's like, what?

Ben:

I didn't bring it.

Ben:

He's like, it is like, I invited you to help me move

Ben:

this because you have the truck.

Ben:

Like he gives off the, I didn't read the social contract of me having a truck also.

Ben:

I just bought a dirt bike.

Xhafer:

I was fully expecting this kid to find a body.

Xhafer:

I thought that's how this was gonna start.

Ben:

Oh yeah.

Xhafer:

but that's not what happens.

Xhafer:

We just go to credits.

Ben:

Now, A little bit of a, spoiler, but, did you, hear the

Ben:

sound cues at the end of this scene?

Xhafer:

No.

Xhafer:

Is it exactly what I would expect knowing what happens?

Ben:

Yes.

Ben:

You, you hear, uh, train whistles in the background?

Xhafer:

Ooh.

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

Good design team.

Xhafer:

Good job.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

I actually noticed it as we were watching it along, and I'm just

Ben:

like, huh, wonder what this is about.

Ben:

Wonder who this kid is.

Ben:

Is this kid somebody important?

Ben:

I was very confused.

Ben:

So j I have to ask what happened her?

Xhafer:

With the kid.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

Who is he?

Ben:

Gimme his backstory.

Xhafer:

Oh God.

Xhafer:

Um, I was not prepared for this at all.

Xhafer:

Right here.

Xhafer:

So, okay, well, this kid, um, this is, Reginald.

Ben:

Phil Johnson?

Xhafer:

Sure.

Xhafer:

PHE Johnson Fourth.

Xhafer:

he is a, uh, a genius.

Xhafer:

He's a prodigy.

Xhafer:

Uh, he's actually already got two college degrees, both of which are in chemistry.

Xhafer:

Uh, he's got a master's, uh, in, uh, crystalline structures.

Xhafer:

And he's actually a big competitor, uh, at this age.

Xhafer:

He's making, he's cooking meth for Gus and, uh, Gus, who we know from

Xhafer:

later in this episode is now in jail.

Xhafer:

Or at the very least, if Gus is not in jail, Gus is detained or

Xhafer:

otherwise removed from the scene.

Ben:

I don't think so.

Xhafer:

Oh,

Ben:

Well,

Ben:

I don't

Xhafer:

we'll talk about it when we get there.

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

I think he's arrested.

Xhafer:

I don't think he's dead, but he was cooking for Gus after

Xhafer:

another fight with Walt.

Xhafer:

he found his, uh, moral less genius, this 12 year old, 14 year old boy.

Ben:

Whose, uh, cook name is uh, master Chef Jr.

Xhafer:

yes, of course.

Xhafer:

yeah.

Xhafer:

So that's, that's who this kid is.

Xhafer:

so he's a rival on the meth scene, at such a young age.

Ben:

Teenage meth cook.

Xhafer:

After theme, we've got your Boy Gomez.

Ben:

Gomez.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

I was so excited back from being the king of El Paso, canonical king,

Xhafer:

Canonical

Ben:

as you recall last time on, Texas, fulfilling its dreams, SEC succeeded

Ben:

from the union and made Gomez it's king.

Ben:

But Gomez is like, I am a, benevolent king.

Ben:

I'm also going to go back to working for the dea.

Xhafer:

Yep.

Xhafer:

he's bringing Walt to see Hank at work,

Ben:

Mm-hmm.

Xhafer:

and they're talking about Sky.

Xhafer:

He's talking about Skyler, like they're back together.

Xhafer:

He says Skyler is in therapy, but their love is dead.

Ben:

Yep.

Xhafer:

And Walt asked for permission to come see his kids who

Xhafer:

are staying with Hank and Marie,

Xhafer:

Hank calls Walt a provider here.

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

So, um, I'm gonna go ahead and say last time on Hank is on their

Xhafer:

heels, on the heels of Walt and Jesse.

Xhafer:

Right now he's about to catch 'em and, uh, he's the new head

Xhafer:

of this d e a office after making a heroic bust and arresting Gus.

Ben:

See, that was my assumption as well.

Ben:

Hank is now big, big shot, promoted because he took down Gus without

Ben:

knowing Walt works for him.

Xhafer:

Yes, a hundred percent.

Xhafer:

Walt Walt was taken outta his equation.

Xhafer:

but that line about calling Wal a provider, he kind of like

Xhafer:

stumbles around it a little bit.

Xhafer:

And I couldn't help but wonder if actually Hank who knows

Xhafer:

what's going on at this point,

Ben:

See

Xhafer:

but the, the stuff right after leads me to believe that he doesn't.

Ben:

yes.

Xhafer:

But it's just that, that way that line came across, I don't know.

Ben:

Well, my, my read on it from last time on the last episode, we

Ben:

saw they own boden's, uh, car wash

Ben:

now, and we saw Skyler was running it.

Ben:

but if she's not, I actively doing the day-today.

Ben:

I think it was more of a, you bought the gas station that your wife

Ben:

was running, like, okay, you're going in and filling in for her.

Ben:

But we know she actually runs the place you just bought it.

Xhafer:

That checks

Ben:

I was sad.

Ben:

Hank points out that, Walt has a new watch, which means r i p calculator watch.

Xhafer:

Yes.

Ben:

I hope it wasn't therm, but we know it was

Xhafer:

Hank goes to get coffee with Walt and then Walt quickly

Xhafer:

attaches a device into the ethernet line going into the computer.

Ben:

Yes.

Xhafer:

just wanna say this is correct.

Xhafer:

this is a type of device that could do the thing that it's doing.

Xhafer:

It's intercepting a network connection to get on the secure network in the

Xhafer:

office, which is going to be able to transmit from the bug over Bluetooth.

Xhafer:

also they could use it to take over the computer.

Xhafer:

so ethernet devices have a thing called power p oe power over ethernet.

Xhafer:

So it can power itself without a battery by being plugged in through this line.

Ben:

Yes.

Xhafer:

then it also has, the ability to wake up a computer and

Xhafer:

take over a computer, uh, over

Ben:

turn it on at 2:00 AM

Xhafer:

Yeah, exactly.

Xhafer:

So this is, this is actually the correct thing from a, like, cursory knowledge

Xhafer:

of how computers work and working in it.

Ben:

conversely, he also places a bug behind the picture of Hank and Marie.

Ben:

The bug not attached to anything.

Ben:

So, uh, bugs like that are typically put into a place where you can have a battery.

Ben:

something that size it is not going to last very long.

Ben:

Maybe they only need it for the phone call for that day.

Ben:

but that thing's gonna be dead in, you know, a couple of days.

Ben:

Especially if it's, you know, something that he got his hands on.

Ben:

Like, he's not talking to a contact at the cia, so the sort of stuff

Ben:

he's going to get, like even on the Mike Black market, it's not gonna be

Ben:

lasting more than a couple of days.

Xhafer:

and this timeframe would be before NFC or wireless charging, so

Ben:

Mm-hmm.

Xhafer:

yeah.

Xhafer:

All

Ben:

So this might be something where he has to hopefully go in and

Ben:

get it back, or replace the battery.

Xhafer:

Mm-hmm.

Ben:

One other thing I did notice here.

Ben:

I'm glad my boy Gomez is okay.

Ben:

Sad.

Ben:

We uh, we lost the calculator.

Ben:

Watch.

Ben:

Did you hear who else we lost?

Xhafer:

Who?

Ben:

He mentions that Walt has a new car,

Xhafer:

Oh yeah.

Xhafer:

the Aztec

Ben:

the Aztec is no more.

Xhafer:

That totally got therm.

Xhafer:

A hundred

Ben:

Oh yeah.

Ben:

I'm gonna mix two of our things.

Ben:

Jesse spilled a bag of Thermite, destroyed the Aztec.

Ben:

Now you might be saying, Ben, how could you keep Thermite in a bag?

Ben:

I don't know.

Ben:

They chemist street it.

Ben:

We are able to grok from the conversation.

Ben:

Skylar's really depressed.

Ben:

She is not okay.

Ben:

Things are bad.

Ben:

I'm going to say last time on Skylar killed Ted.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

You

Ben:

Yes.

Ben:

I think

Ben:

Skylar killed Ted because he was like, I'm not actually going to use this

Ben:

money to pay off my, my taxes also.

Ben:

Now I know you, person who worked for me randomly came up with $660,000.

Ben:

I'm gonna try and blackmail.

Ben:

You and Skylar had to go.

Ben:

You are like a double dumb ass one.

Ben:

You didn't take this wonderful gift I gave you.

Ben:

And two, you're going to try and hang it over my head.

Ben:

Now when you don't pay your taxes, they're going to come find out.

Ben:

You randomly got $600,000.

Ben:

Start trying to find, track that money.

Ben:

Now I'm in danger.

Ben:

Now you in a trunk.

Ben:

so I am thinking that, in our interim, last time on Skylar murdered Ted.

Ben:

I'm hoping,

Xhafer:

Skylar murdered Ted and Walt cleaned it up.

Ben:

yes.

Ben:

She, so she is, very,

Xhafer:

indebted to him at this point.

Ben:

yes.

Ben:

She's indebted.

Ben:

She is, not feeling good about it, but you know, she's just

Ben:

kind of now resigned herself.

Xhafer:

The way she talks to Walt, there's clearly no future where she

Xhafer:

does not also go down for this shit.

Xhafer:

And she also doesn't seem particularly perturbed about dying over it.

Ben:

She's just worried about her kids.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

I did also note, while they were talking, Walton, Hank, is like, come on, just,

Ben:

you know, tell me what's going on.

Ben:

And Walt does a wonderful job of playing him by like, actually, oh, opening up.

Ben:

Uh, and Hank like, immediately gets like super uncomfortable.

Ben:

and Hank is exactly the kind of guy who's just like, all

Ben:

right, you, you're my friend.

Ben:

I want to know like, what's going on with you?

Ben:

And you start telling him stuff and he's like, I thought you, like,

Ben:

if it is anything beyond man, I thought the Lakers were gonna win.

Ben:

And I put 500 bucks on them and now I'm like mad that I lost it.

Ben:

That is the level that Hank is able to operate on.

Ben:

And if you go above that, it is uncomfortable city.

Xhafer:

after this, we cut to Mike Walton, Jesse, who have captured Lydia.

Xhafer:

we find Lydia works for a drug company.

Xhafer:

At first I thought she might have been a DEA agent, but pretty clearly

Ben:

Or an informant or something.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

they are testing, the bug, with passing along some info to Hank in his office.

Xhafer:

So Hank calls the Houston office, presumably where they are,

Xhafer:

which is later confirmed by the

Ben:

Yes.

Xhafer:

and admit to hiding the trackers, which Lydia had noticed

Xhafer:

and told our crew crew about.

Xhafer:

Mike is hesitant that they can't trust her because she put a hit out on him.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

Like at first she's just like, what's going?

Ben:

Like, why are you trying to do this?

Ben:

And it's like, okay, once we know you put a hit out on one of these guys, like.

Ben:

Maybe they don't trust you.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

this is a lot of traveling for Walt, uh, in between scenes here.

Ben:

Yes.

Xhafer:

Houston to Albuquerque it's not quick,

Ben:

Oh,

Xhafer:

you know, it's a 12 hour drive,

Ben:

dang.

Xhafer:

almost 13.

Ben:

So when they say, oh, okay, we've got a six hour head

Ben:

start, they weren't kidding.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

Houston is like on the coast, east coast of Texas,

Ben:

Oh,

Xhafer:

the Gulf of Mexico.

Ben:

And

Xhafer:

is centered in New Mexico.

Ben:

yeah.

Xhafer:

this is a trek, this is a couple hour flight it looks like.

Ben:

All right.

Xhafer:

and I was just like, Walt is time traveling like, The, because we see him

Xhafer:

back and forth between Houston Albuquerque a couple of times in this episode.

Ben:

Yes.

Ben:

Yes, we do.

Xhafer:

They are not close.

Xhafer:

What is going on?

Ben:

I'm guessing he's got a plane.

Xhafer:

You think he's got his own plane?

Xhafer:

Ooh, he's probably got his own plane.

Xhafer:

I was gonna say last time on, he developed transporter technology from Star Trek,

Xhafer:

but your playing makes way more sense,

Ben:

my thought is, they are taking care of, I believe the quote

Ben:

is, the rest of Gus's operation.

Ben:

Like all of Gus's guys are in prison and they're taking care of them.

Xhafer:

so, uh, yes.

Xhafer:

That's, that's very soon.

Ben:

So

Ben:

my thought is, I'm thinking, uh, Gus is Denzo as mentioned, taken down by

Ben:

Hank, which got him promoted.

Ben:

And so, Walt, Jesse and Mike being the two guys who make the product and the guy you

Ben:

don't mess with, took over the operation.

Ben:

And so like the plane that they had that they took to Mexico,

Ben:

they've got access to that.

Ben:

the Cadillac Escalades, they've got access to those.

Ben:

So, I'm gonna say they're flying.

Xhafer:

that makes sense.

Xhafer:

so Lydia tries to convince them not to kill her.

Xhafer:

she has information on a ocean of methymine, which is what they need right

Xhafer:

now for the thing that they're doing.

Xhafer:

Jesse Vouches for Walt to Mike here.

Xhafer:

Walt's like gonna interrogate Lydia a bit, and Mike is all

Xhafer:

like, let's just fucking kill her.

Xhafer:

And Jesse's all like, no, let Walt do his stuff.

Xhafer:

Mike clearly does not trust Walt.

Xhafer:

Mike trusts Jesse.

Xhafer:

I believe this proves Mike is working for Jesse after the adventure in Mexico.

Xhafer:

When Gus goes down, I'll take my points.

Ben:

where Mike is, saved by Jesse, at least he feels he owes him.

Xhafer:

Mm-hmm.

Ben:

I loved Mike in this scene.

Ben:

First, he gives this great, great speech where it's just like, man, if you weren't,

Ben:

in a show with, uh, Brian Cranston, you would've won all the Emmys here.

Ben:

he has this great thing like, Hey, you do this wrong.

Ben:

I shoot you in the face, you do this thing wrong.

Ben:

I shoot you in the face.

Ben:

Tell me what you're gonna do.

Ben:

Tell me what you're gonna do if you don't do it, shoot me where in the face.

Ben:

That's right.

Ben:

and then later he's like, this isn't a gun.

Ben:

It's a pistol.

Ben:

It's different.

Ben:

he gives huge, bones, don't rust by the mountain, goats energy,

Ben:

but he's just like, I'm a goon.

Ben:

I am a hired muscle.

Ben:

I am a hitman.

Ben:

I do my job.

Ben:

I do it better than everyone else.

Ben:

I'm a professional.

Xhafer:

so we learn, Lydia has worked with Gus, who we get a little

Xhafer:

bit more confirmation, at least all of his dudes are in custody.

Xhafer:

If Gus isn't, and Mike was supposed to take care of some people that

Xhafer:

our Gus's former associates, but instead of taking care of them,

Ben:

Quote unquote.

Xhafer:

Mike, protects them.

Xhafer:

He actually takes care of them

Ben:

yeah.

Ben:

Without

Xhafer:

without quotes.

Xhafer:

And so Lydia assumes this means that Mike is going to turn informant and adds

Xhafer:

his name to the hit list to protect her

Ben:

She's just like, kill everybody who knows about

Ben:

me.

Ben:

And Mike's like, I'm not killing all my dudes.

Ben:

And she's like, okay, other hitman kill everybody who knows about me.

Ben:

And man, I wish I could have seen this hitman fight.

Xhafer:

I like to think of it a lot like the end fight in metal gear, solid

Xhafer:

three, you just have it on and then you turn off your PlayStation, set the clock

Xhafer:

forward a week, and then it's over.

Ben:

I also loved, uh, Mike's line here, uh, because they're talking about

Ben:

how convincing Lydia seems, and he's just like, everyone is Meryl Streep

Ben:

when you've got a gun to their head.

Xhafer:

It's a good line.

Xhafer:

but all this information, appeases Walt ask for trust and Lydia

Xhafer:

details a train with a tanker that has 24,000 gallons of methymine.

Ben:

And I immediately was just like, how, how do you, how do you move that?

Ben:

How do you steal that?

Ben:

And I loved their answer.

Xhafer:

love their answer, but I gotta know what's the goal here?

Xhafer:

They're gonna cook enough meth for the entire country's year supply.

Xhafer:

Like we seen them take a like 50 gallon barrel right?

Xhafer:

And turn that into 1.3 million worth of crystal.

Xhafer:

Is

Ben:

Yep.

Xhafer:

he gonna be the muska meth?

Xhafer:

Is he gonna be the Bezos of the blue?

Xhafer:

The Saudi royal family of speed?

Xhafer:

The buffet of bikers coffee, the Larry Ellison of La Glass, the Bernard

Xhafer:

Arnold of blade, the gates of Go fast.

Xhafer:

The Steve Palmer of Stovetop, the Bloomberg of Black Beauties.

Xhafer:

The Coke of, oh God, what's this one?

Xhafer:

Kone, I don't know.

Xhafer:

That's on the list.

Xhafer:

Uh, the Thompson a week, the Anai of Yba, the Pinal of Poor Man's Cocaine,

Xhafer:

the Huang of Hot Ice, the Mackenzie Scott of shards, the Yas of Yellow

Xhafer:

Barn, the Vladimir Potent of Ventana.

Xhafer:

I,

Ben:

The saltan of swat, Great Bambino.

Ben:

How long did you work on that?

Xhafer:

Um, I'd rather not say.

Ben:

I can just see like you pulling up a list of, nicknames for meth and trying

Ben:

to just like one webpage, nicknames of meth, one webpage, rich assholes.

Xhafer:

Yep, that's exactly what it was.

Xhafer:

Let me find the alliteration.

Ben:

so immediately they are now planning their heist and

Ben:

have a detailed map of Texas.

Ben:

In their rust factory, abandoned rust factory.

Ben:

And I'm just like, who, who brought a map of Texas to a murder?

Ben:

Cuz that's what they were here to do.

Xhafer:

It's the last thing you want is a map, a murder scene,

Xhafer:

especially a map you're gonna draw on.

Ben:

But I did love that they talked about, dark territory as

Ben:

made famous by the seminal film Under Siege, two Dark Territory,

Xhafer:

Is that the one where Van Dam punches someone in the

Xhafer:

nuts so many times they die?

Xhafer:

Or is that under siege one.

Ben:

that's not van dammit, Steven Segal.

Xhafer:

right.

Xhafer:

It's Saal, not Vanta.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Ben:

and I believe that is hard target

Xhafer:

Okay.

Ben:

where he kicked somebody in the nuts until they die.

Ben:

Uh,

Xhafer:

times or something and they just

Ben:

yeah.

Ben:

No, this is the one where, where Steven Segal is just a cook.

Ben:

But instead of being an ex-Navy Seal, now Navy cook on an aircraft

Ben:

carrier, he's on a train as they're going through dark territory.

Ben:

And so no one can come and save the day but him.

Xhafer:

Ah.

Xhafer:

But yeah, man, train heist episode high hype.

Ben:

Yeah, I did love, once again, Mike, getting all the best lines.

Ben:

There are two kinds of heists, the ones you walk away from and the

Ben:

ones where, you leave witnesses.

Ben:

Although I was ready for him to say there are two types of heists, the ones you

Ben:

walk away from and the ones you don't.

Ben:

Uh, you know, it's, it's 50 50.

Ben:

Either you get away with it or you don't.

Xhafer:

after all this planning, we see Hank and Marie playing with the baby.

Ben:

Yeah,

Xhafer:

we don't really get an idea of what's actually going on with Skyler.

Ben:

no.

Xhafer:

don't know.

Xhafer:

And, uh, Walt Jr goes by Flynn.

Xhafer:

Now,

Ben:

Yes.

Xhafer:

do you, I assume this is his middle name, that like,

Xhafer:

he's ashamed of his dad, so he doesn't want to be called Walt.

Ben:

I'm guessing it is sim something similar or he just really,

Ben:

really got into, Tron Legacy.

Xhafer:

I don't think that was out yet.

Xhafer:

So it's gotta be his middle name.

Ben:

When did Tron Legacy come out?

Xhafer:

20 12, 20 13.

Xhafer:

I think we are in 2010 in story.

Xhafer:

Maybe 2011.

Ben:

so this was season five, so it'd been 2012, but it's not

Ben:

moving at the same speed as time.

Ben:

I don't know.

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

Okay.

Ben:

So he, he got into the original tron.

Xhafer:

Okay.

Xhafer:

There you go.

Xhafer:

Joke still lands.

Ben:

I was disappointed cuz I don't care how moody you are, I don't care.

Ben:

Uh, how pissed off at your dad you are when somebody says,

Ben:

Hey, you wanna watch heat?

Ben:

I got heat on Blu-ray.

Ben:

You sit down, you're watching heat on Blu-ray movie's.

Xhafer:

to test this at the most inconvenient time in your life, Ben.

Ben:

there are very few things that I would not go Yeah.

Ben:

But I'd rather watch heat.

Ben:

Uh, like the o like one of the few I can think of is if I'm currently

Ben:

watching the Town, because I believe that's a better heist film.

Ben:

but other than that, if I'm not watching the town or the Sting, I'm watching heat.

Xhafer:

Mike and Walt argue really leaning in to Mike's, ride or die for Jesse.

Xhafer:

I feel,

Ben:

Mm-hmm.

Xhafer:

we find out they need cash and that's to keep Gus's goons quiet.

Xhafer:

So they need payoff money.

Xhafer:

That's what all this is for.

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

So that's why they can't just be like making, we're stealing

Ben:

Sudafed mu amounts of meth.

Ben:

They need, we need barrels.

Xhafer:

Jesse comes up with an idea for the heist here.

Ben:

I was hoping it was thermite on the train tracks.

Xhafer:

surprised me like it's nice to see the character growth here that he's

Xhafer:

capable of coming up with this stuff Now.

Xhafer:

we cut over to the crew on the railway has they start to

Xhafer:

measure out and bury some tanks

Ben:

Yep.

Xhafer:

Jesse Clemens.

Ben:

Well, and first we get Fernando with the excavator and like, I want to know

Ben:

how they found Fernando in the excavator.

Ben:

Just like, did you rent one?

Ben:

Did you, how'd you find a guy who could drive it?

Ben:

I hope Fernando's getting like his day rate.

Ben:

just

Ben:

like, yeah, I don't care, man.

Ben:

I'll, I'll drive out to the middle of nowhere Texas and

Ben:

dig two giant holes for you.

Ben:

I don't care.

Ben:

Permits, I don't care, man.

Xhafer:

Yeah,

Ben:

But yeah, we get Jesse

Xhafer:

I literally just rewatched u s s Callister episode of Black Mirror like two

Xhafer:

or three days before I made these notes.

Ben:

I've never seen a black mirror.

Xhafer:

Oh, it's good.

Ben:

I.

Xhafer:

I.

Xhafer:

mean, it's wholly depressing, but it's good.

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

I mean, some of it, was terrifying, you know, six

Xhafer:

years ago, seven years ago

Ben:

And now it's just the world.

Xhafer:

Now it's just the world.

Xhafer:

Watch that Waldo moment now.

Xhafer:

It hits very, very differently.

Xhafer:

It's almost like we elected a fucking cartoonist president.

Xhafer:

Hey,

Ben:

so I did actually, like they start explaining the plan to, uh, Jesse Clemens.

Ben:

Todd,

Xhafer:

Todd.

Ben:

yes.

Ben:

We've already got a Ted in this show.

Ben:

Like, come

Ben:

on.

Ben:

There are more

Ben:

names.

Xhafer:

Ted.

Ben:

Is he?

Xhafer:

Ted's dead.

Ben:

Yeah, Ted's dead.

Ben:

This is

Ben:

Todd.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

we couldn't have named him, you know, Simmons something, I don't know.

Ben:

they start explaining the plan where they are going to be pumping out some of the

Ben:

meth lamine, replacing it with water,

Ben:

you know, just doing a switcharoo so nobody notices,

Xhafer:

Yeah, they're going for 900 gallons.

Ben:

well they're stealing a thousand gallons of that, putting 900 back in

Ben:

because Methymine is lighter than water.

Xhafer:

Yep.

Ben:

it's a actually really smart, clever idea, which made me immediately

Ben:

go, how are they gonna screw this up?

Ben:

Like, what's gonna go sideways here?

Xhafer:

the soft math is that this is gonna make 26.2 million

Xhafer:

worth of meth, by the way.

Ben:

That's a lot of money.

Xhafer:

That's the profit share based off of the 55 gallon drum making the

Xhafer:

one point, three that they then split.

Ben:

Okay.

Xhafer:

yeah.

Xhafer:

after this we're back at the white household

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

He's back in, back in New

Ben:

Mexico.

Xhafer:

New Mexico, flying around.

Xhafer:

Flynn has locked himself in his room.

Xhafer:

Skyler's trying to get him to come out.

Xhafer:

When Walt gets home, Walt tells Junior, to go to his aunt and

Xhafer:

uncles because he said so.

Xhafer:

and he says, Walt Flynn, Walt Junior says that's not good

Xhafer:

enough, and then leaves anyway.

Ben:

It just, it is like, you couldn't come up with any kind of conceivable lie.

Xhafer:

Right.

Ben:

it's not that hard.

Ben:

you know, for two people who have been lying to each other and their kids for

Ben:

years now, like, come up with something.

Xhafer:

You'd think anything.

Ben:

You could just say, Hey, your mom is really depressed right now

Ben:

and it's not safe for you to be here.

Ben:

you could say, you

Xhafer:

we wanna have sex.

Xhafer:

Get the fuck out.

Xhafer:

Doesn't matter.

Xhafer:

It's a lie that's going to squid out your 16 year old son real quick.

Xhafer:

He's not gonna want to be around for that anything.

Xhafer:

Just fuck anything.

Xhafer:

And he's like, no, because I said so.

Xhafer:

It's just so fucking lazy.

Ben:

it is, it's really lazy.

Ben:

And then it's also clear Skyler has not thought this through of, so your kids just

Ben:

don't live with you for their whole lives.

Ben:

One of them's a legit baby.

Ben:

so her being like, Hey, the kids can never ever be here.

Xhafer:

Although Hank and Marie, do say like, they seem

Xhafer:

cool with just taking the baby,

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

because last time on they've been trying for three seasons and

Xhafer:

haven't been able to conceive.

Ben:

mm-hmm.

Xhafer:

That's been a plot point we've just missed this whole time.

Ben:

But my, the thing that got me was Walt is incredulous about this.

Ben:

Ignoring the fact that out of the seven episodes we've seen, bad

Ben:

guys have found him at his house.

Ben:

In two of them,

Xhafer:

It's true.

Ben:

he got kidnapped and then un kidnapped again from out in front of his

Xhafer:

Yes.

Xhafer:

Twice now.

Xhafer:

Very real

Ben:

being like, yeah, people aren't gonna come here, people don't know.

Ben:

Like, okay, you know what?

Ben:

If you and Skylar aren't working out, stay in your gosh darn condo.

Ben:

Wal, you're fine.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

Skyler tells Walt she's done, she wants out, she calls herself

Xhafer:

his hostage, honestly seems on base from what we've seen.

Ben:

I think she's being hyperbolic in that she's caused enough

Ben:

problems where it's like, Hey, if you hadn't killed Todd or Ted,

Ben:

like we wouldn't have these other problems.

Ben:

if you had had a job when we, this all started, I wouldn't

Ben:

have had to start making meth.

Ben:

you know.

Xhafer:

I mean, it's just, I don't know.

Xhafer:

We know she's taken a ton of his money.

Xhafer:

We know she's taken at least $600,000 of his money,

Ben:

Oh

Xhafer:

um, if nothing else.

Xhafer:

And I do think that the TED thing makes sense to me too.

Xhafer:

So the hot water heater's been fixed,

Ben:

That said, well, she's all, I'll do whatever you want.

Ben:

I'll be whatever you want to just leave the kids out of this.

Ben:

Walt is clearly perturbed by, by her actions that said, when she's

Ben:

just like, where are you going?

Ben:

He's like, gonna go rob a train.

Ben:

Like he must at some level be liberated to be like, I'm not

Ben:

sneaking, I'm not hiding around.

Ben:

I can tell my wife I'm going to do crimes.

Xhafer:

Not little crimes either.

Ben:

yeah, no, I'm going to do a train

Ben:

heist.

Xhafer:

Hell yeah.

Xhafer:

Lydia gets the details on the train and passes them over to Mike.

Ben:

Mm-hmm.

Xhafer:

They set up a semi on the road to stop the train.

Ben:

Who was driving that semi?

Xhafer:

Bill Burr.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

Bill Burr.

Xhafer:

I was just like, oh shit.

Xhafer:

The guy from the Mandalorian.

Ben:

I, I, well, he is also a standup

Ben:

comedian

Xhafer:

Ben, I'm doing your thing.

Ben:

I

Xhafer:

Okay.

Ben:

uh, I actually, I saw him do standup once and he's hilarious.

Xhafer:

So yeah, bill Burr, the engineers stop in time notice

Ben:

Which I don't know as much as they, uh, did a, great job earlier with like

Ben:

how I would hook up a bug to a computer.

Ben:

They clearly don't know dick about trains.

Ben:

It takes a train miles to come to a stop.

Ben:

They stop, start pulling the brakes and notice Bill Burr maybe 400 yards away.

Xhafer:

It's hard to say.

Ben:

It is not like,

Xhafer:

It's, we don't

Ben:

That straightaway is not very long.

Xhafer:

like to be able to judge the distance.

Xhafer:

It's a, it's a big open desert, so it's not like we've got buildings or anything.

Ben:

But we do have the distance from the road to the trestle.

Ben:

We know that's 400

Ben:

feet.

Ben:

The straightaway is not orders of magnitude longer than that.

Ben:

Re uh, relative distance

Xhafer:

I mean, you don't have to sell me on the writers not

Xhafer:

understanding distance as a concept when Walt is magically teleporting

Xhafer:

between Albuquerque and Houston.

Ben:

Yes.

Ben:

Fair.

Ben:

but, they notice, bill Burr in the amount of time that bill is standing

Ben:

outside of the dump truck, waving his

Ben:

hands

Xhafer:

where I would be.

Ben:

dump truck and train, and it's like, oh, we're about

Ben:

to get a ginger pancake here.

Ben:

Like,

Xhafer:

Nope.

Xhafer:

Not standing there maybe for a minute, but not nearly as long as he was.

Xhafer:

Woo.

Ben:

have, it is unfortunate.

Ben:

I have seen, one episode of one show making it something we can't do.

Ben:

I've seen one episode of, Handmaid's Tale where a bunch of people just get smoked

Ben:

by a train and I was just like, oh, no.

Xhafer:

I would say that one episode of a show is not necessarily a disqualifier.

Xhafer:

Uh,

Ben:

I just, none of my predictions could be a bunch of these

Ben:

girls get smoked by a train.

Xhafer:

I, I, honestly, I, I'd let you have it.

Xhafer:

but, I have seen a little bit of Handmaid's Tale and I have

Xhafer:

no interest in watching it.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

I came into the room when my wife was watching and I'm like, oh, these

Ben:

girls are all running to freedom.

Ben:

It's like that train is actually way too close.

Ben:

Maybe like, maybe the c g I was off like.

Ben:

I don't know what's going on.

Ben:

Like they are not running at the right pace.

Ben:

Oh, they all did.

Xhafer:

Ugh.

Ben:

so, uh, they actually stop and it is Go Jesse, go Ted Time or Todd

Xhafer:

They run up, they start attaching the hoses and opening stuff up and

Xhafer:

getting at the Methymine while Bill Burr is like, I can't fix my truck.

Xhafer:

Help me.

Xhafer:

You guys are engineers.

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

and this is a fun time for me to tell my little story.

Ben:

My father was an engineer, like the kind who designs, parts for cars.

Ben:

He went to college while I was very, very young to go back, get

Ben:

his degree, become an engineer.

Ben:

Came home one day, brought the family into the living room

Ben:

and proudly said I graduated.

Ben:

Today, as of today, I am an engineer

Xhafer:

Mm-hmm.

Ben:

and about five or six year old Ben goes.

Ben:

What kind of train are you going to drive?

Ben:

And he goes, not that kind of engineer.

Ben:

And five, six year old Ben just does not care.

Ben:

You are not the cool kind of engineer.

Ben:

You don't get to wear the hat.

Ben:

You're not wearing

Ben:

overalls.

Ben:

I could not give less of a

Ben:

crap.

Xhafer:

You're not hanging out with Ringo.

Xhafer:

I don't give a shit.

Ben:

Nope.

Ben:

Do not care.

Ben:

Call me when you meet Thomas

Ben:

. I did like that.

Ben:

as, bill Burr is monkeying around trying to like, waste these engineers time.

Ben:

Part of it.

Ben:

They're like, I guess we push it.

Ben:

This is a dump truck with a load of sand in the back.

Xhafer:

Yeah,

Ben:

Three guys are not pushing this

Xhafer:

well they try, but Bill is like, I love the shot where they're

Xhafer:

pushing and bill's just like, Ugh.

Ben:

he could actually been pushing.

Ben:

They're not moving it.

Ben:

I know I've tried to push a minivan with about seven guys.

Ben:

Now, this was in the mud, but still,

Xhafer:

Yeah,

Ben:

but we do get a random nice, native man who shows up in his giant truck, and

Ben:

he's just like, I'll give you a push.

Ben:

And like, oh, no, no, no.

Ben:

We don't wanna mess up your truck.

Ben:

He's like, I'll go slow.

Ben:

It's fine.

Ben:

It's like, thank you.

Ben:

Nice man.

Xhafer:

Please don't, but sure.

Xhafer:

The engineers are, like you said, it's fine, dude, just let 'em fucking push it.

Xhafer:

yep.

Xhafer:

So they push the truck and it

Ben:

For the

Ben:

last few minutes, Mike has been like, Hey, cut bait.

Ben:

go.

Ben:

go.

Ben:

go.

Ben:

And Walt is like, no, we're not going until we've gotten every last ounce.

Xhafer:

Yep.

Xhafer:

Which is pointless.

Xhafer:

Like it's already a ton of money.

Xhafer:

They don't need the extra million dollars from the last 50 or whatever.

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

Every 55 gallons is 1.6 million or whatever.

Xhafer:

Then they don't need, at that point, they're fine.

Xhafer:

They've got enough money to buy off nine dudes, but Yeah.

Xhafer:

But, uh, that's not as dramatic, you know.

Ben:

So you said it's how many million per 55 gallon drum.

Xhafer:

I did the math 1.3 million for per 55 gallon drum.

Ben:

So they have enough.

Ben:

If they take all a thousand, that is 23 and a half million dollars worth of meth,

Ben:

that is like, okay, you only got 22?

Ben:

Yeah, we're published.

Xhafer:

right?

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

Oh, how terrible.

Ben:

Mm-hmm.

Xhafer:

go buy some Bitcoin.

Xhafer:

Trust me.

Xhafer:

2009.

Xhafer:

Go buy some Bitcoin with that.

Ben:

And sell Right.

Ben:

In 2018.

Xhafer:

Ignore the Hoang.

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

So they managed to just get out in time.

Ben:

Todd gets everything, sealed back up and jumps off the top and, oh, no.

Xhafer:

Yep.

Xhafer:

As soon as they all gather, they're like, Hey, we did it.

Xhafer:

They see the little kid from the opening that nefarious meth, Lord,

Xhafer:

that's been competing with Walt, and Todd's just like, oh, I've been

Xhafer:

wanting to do this for a while.

Xhafer:

Fuck you other meth, Lord, and shoots him dead.

Ben:

Yep.

Xhafer:

I, until this moment, as soon as we met Todd, I'm like, oh, the kid

Xhafer:

on the bike was Todd when he was a kid, and Mike's gonna kill him out here and

Xhafer:

there's gonna be like a spider in a jar next to where he lands or something, and

Xhafer:

it will be like this full circle moment.

Xhafer:

That's what I was expecting.

Xhafer:

I was clearly wrong.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

I, I was firmly in the, in the camp of this is going to be like the nice bumbling

Ben:

guy who you feel sad when he beefs

Xhafer:

Mm-hmm.

Ben:

as it stands now, I'm just like, oh, how is Todd the loose cannon?

Ben:

Like, you've got Jesse, you've got Bill Burr, you've got Walt

Ben:

making terrible decisions.

Ben:

Like,

Xhafer:

Cold-blooded Mike.

Xhafer:

And then just fucking, Nope.

Xhafer:

Todd.

Ben:

Todd, Todd's the problem.

Xhafer:

Yep.

Xhafer:

And that's it.

Xhafer:

We go to credits.

Xhafer:

All right, well, I'm gonna grab the dice here and roll him up and we'll

Xhafer:

see where we're going next, and then we'll go over our predictions.

Xhafer:

All right.

Xhafer:

That is a eight.

Xhafer:

So our next episode is going to be, Season five, episode 13 or more aptly.

Xhafer:

Season 5.5, episode five.

Xhafer:

and I'll look that up after our predictions cuz I don't want anything

Xhafer:

to spoil me before we make them.

Xhafer:

All right, so let's go back and look at our previous predictions and see

Xhafer:

if we've scored any points here.

Xhafer:

from EP one.

Xhafer:

I've got Jesse's gonna get shot.

Xhafer:

Walt cheats on his wife and his cancer diagnosis is incorrect.

Xhafer:

Two of those are still on the table.

Ben:

From our mine, I got, Skyler never actually writes anything.

Ben:

We got the that point.

Ben:

Boden gets run over by a car in the carwash.

Ben:

It's a feel good moment.

Ben:

I gave myself a point for that.

Ben:

Gomez is murdered violently by Hank, and I am so glad to never get that

Xhafer:

It's still on the table though.

Ben:

Nah, nobody can kill the king of El

Ben:

Paso.

Xhafer:

season two, episode one, I've got Jesse accidentally spills a

Xhafer:

bag of meth because it isn't sealed.

Xhafer:

I'm taking it.

Ben:

Ah,

Xhafer:

to have happened.

Xhafer:

It has to have happened.

Ben:

Jesse's also much more competent now.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

Well, exactly.

Xhafer:

I don't think it's going to happen going forward.

Xhafer:

I think it has happened.

Ben:

Okay.

Xhafer:

Marie comes to visit in seals.

Xhafer:

Walt's hat.

Xhafer:

Hank catches.

Xhafer:

Walt Walt cuts him in in the operation.

Ben:

All right.

Ben:

I had, Tuco ends up working for Walt.

Ben:

Nope.

Ben:

Hank has to choose between Marie Kleptomania at his job.

Ben:

He picks his job and, no one ever actually to tries to turn.

Ben:

Walt and Jesse Inn every problem is only because of their own paranoia and naivete.

Xhafer:

Not the case at this point, I feel,

Ben:

I, so far every problem has been brought on by themselves.

Xhafer:

no, no.

Xhafer:

Last episode, I think Gus pretty clearly disqualified that with

Xhafer:

the whole thing with the Don Gu.

Ben:

was Gus's problem.

Ben:

Nobody was trying to turn in.

Ben:

Walter,

Xhafer:

Jesse was almost a slave.

Ben:

Yeah, but he was, that was never actually going to happen.

Ben:

It was part

Ben:

of Gus's attempt to kill the, the cartel.

Xhafer:

was a problem Jesse had to deal with.

Ben:

I didn't say they don't have to deal with it.

Ben:

I'm just saying no one is ever trying to

Ben:

turn them into the

Xhafer:

brought upon them by Gus.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

Not by Walt and Jesse.

Xhafer:

Exactly like that is a problem outside of their paranoia.

Ben:

I just more mean like no one's ever actually trying to turn them into the dea.

Ben:

No one has ever gone to the cops on them.

Xhafer:

mm.

Xhafer:

I think Hank's gonna bust them and take that point away from you.

Ben:

Maybe, but at this point, I feel like every problem is them getting

Ben:

in over their heads and doing dumb stuff and more reactionary dumb stuff.

Xhafer:

All right, well, skipping ahead to season two, episode nine.

Xhafer:

I've got the upgrade in their operation, which has happened twice now.

Xhafer:

Skyler finds out about Walt, that happens now.

Xhafer:

My prime time.

Xhafer:

They lose the baby.

Xhafer:

That's my wording.

Xhafer:

They lose the baby.

Xhafer:

Right now they don't have the baby.

Xhafer:

The baby

Ben:

But that's, they gave it away.

Ben:

They didn't lose it.

Ben:

They know where it is.

Ben:

It's not lost.

Xhafer:

Mm

Xhafer:

mm mm No.

Ben:

at my sister's, I know where it is.

Ben:

It's not lost.

Xhafer:

I don't think they have the option of taking the baby back though.

Xhafer:

I think they've lost the baby effectively.

Ben:

No.

Ben:

They could get it back.

Xhafer:

I don't.

Xhafer:

We'll see what it's like.

Xhafer:

Next episode.

Xhafer:

We'll go from there.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

I have Kristen Ritter becomes a problem.

Ben:

I believe that was the case.

Ben:

And I believe she's not a problem anymore.

Ben:

the RV explodes.

Ben:

We haven't seen the RV in a while.

Ben:

I'm willing to say the RV is The, victim of a accidental therm

Xhafer:

That seems fair to me.

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Ben:

and, uh, alas, uh, skinny Pete is never seen, but is, uh, called

Ben:

at least three more times, and then we immediately saw Skinny Pete.

Xhafer:

Skipping ahead to season three, episode five.

Xhafer:

, Walt and Jesse burbury the hatchet and cook together again.

Xhafer:

That's happened.

Ben:

They got

Xhafer:

Evening Walt and Jesse's rift deepens, leading to them

Xhafer:

becoming rivals on the meth scene.

Xhafer:

Possibly happened, possibly didn't.

Xhafer:

Hard to say.

Xhafer:

And then prime time, Wal and Skyler get back together.

Xhafer:

This has happened.

Xhafer:

It's not great.

Xhafer:

I would say it's, I would say it's terrible, but it has happened.

Ben:

I don't

Xhafer:

They're living

Ben:

somebody says, you're my, I'm your slave.

Xhafer:

look, I didn't say they get back together and are happy.

Xhafer:

I didn't say they get back together and it's a functional relationship.

Xhafer:

I said they get back together.

Xhafer:

Skylar says, I can be whatever kind of wife you want me to be.

Xhafer:

I'm not in support of this relationship, but it exists.

Ben:

Yeah.

Ben:

All right.

Xhafer:

Points.

Ben:

And I had, Jesse and Walt reconcile

Ben:

point, they are back in the rv, but to live well, I'm gonna say that's

Ben:

not true because the RV got thermite.

Ben:

and Gus becomes a chicken magnate and leaves drugs behind.

Ben:

No.

Xhafer:

Daytime, for season four episode one, Saul changes his name to Sal

Xhafer:

and starts practicing law in Mexico.

Xhafer:

We didn't see him this episode, maybe evening.

Xhafer:

We never see Mike again.

Xhafer:

We've seen Mike again

Ben:

Yep.

Xhafer:

Prime time Gomez returns to finish the job.

Xhafer:

Hank can't.

Xhafer:

Gomez is returned.

Ben:

Gomez has returned.

Xhafer:

I don't know if this one counts though.

Xhafer:

Finish the job.

Xhafer:

Hank can't, Hank does strike me as a nept and Gomez is the brains of the operation.

Ben:

Mm.

Xhafer:

We'll see.

Xhafer:

We'll give it another episode.

Ben:

Yep.

Ben:

I got, they killed Gus in an incredibly over the top fashion.

Ben:

Entirely possible.

Ben:

as Hank is taking down Gus's, uh, organization, they may have wiped him out

Ben:

too.

Ben:

Mike kills a lot of people all at once, and Wal and Jesse blow up the lab.

Ben:

The lab is gone.

Xhafer:

Yes.

Ben:

I, I firmly believe if they could be using that lab, they would.

Ben:

But when everything was going down, what did they do to that lab affair?

Xhafer:

Thermite.

Ben:

They thermite the hell outta that

Ben:

lab.

Ben:

No evidence.

Ben:

What?

Xhafer:

is destroyed.

Xhafer:

I do believe the lab is destroyed.

Xhafer:

In all

Ben:

Oh yeah.

Ben:

They therm the hell outta that

Ben:

thing.

Xhafer:

that evidence.

Xhafer:

Season four, episode 10, Hank heals up and gets on the trail of Walt and Jesse.

Xhafer:

This has happened.

Ben:

He got on the trail of something.

Xhafer:

He's, he is actively on their trail.

Xhafer:

He was

Xhafer:

investigating meth barrels they had, were about to steal and

Xhafer:

didn't because of the trackers.

Xhafer:

He is on their trail.

Xhafer:

He might not know it's them, but he is on their trail.

Ben:

yeah, or the Texas Bureau was on them, but yeah, they messed it up.

Xhafer:

All right, evening Mike Abandons Gus to work for Jesse, and

Xhafer:

hence Walt appears to be the case.

Ben:

My only worry is abandons.

Xhafer:

Mm,

Ben:

I think it might just be a, we were the three guys left standing

Ben:

who were smart enough to not be here when everything went down.

Ben:

But I'm guessing that, your more Right.

Ben:

that it's when whatever went down with Gus went down, Mike was on their

Ben:

side.

Xhafer:

All right.

Xhafer:

I'll take those two points and then prime time.

Xhafer:

Skylar gets killed still on the table.

Xhafer:

We'll see.

Ben:

so for my daytime, I've got Skylar kills Ted.

Ben:

I firmly believe that is the case.

Ben:

Saul has a full mental breakdown.

Ben:

Maybe that's where he is.

Ben:

He's con convalescing.

Ben:

and I have Gus finally gets on top only for someone else to rip his

Ben:

whole organization down and kill him.

Ben:

That does feel like what happened?

Xhafer:

know that he's dead though.

Ben:

I, if he was still alive, they would be talking about it.

Ben:

He would be the ghost over their shoulder.

Xhafer:

Quite possibly.

Xhafer:

I, I do, I do think he's dead.

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

to give you that prime time point.

Xhafer:

The other two, I want to give a little bit more time.

Ben:

don't think Skylar killed Ted?

Xhafer:

I want to give it one more episode

Xhafer:

If you had made that prediction three episodes ago and we hadn't seen

Xhafer:

them, For sure, but dead characters just missing from one episode.

Xhafer:

Eh?

Xhafer:

You gotta give it more than one.

Xhafer:

I think that's a good rule, just in general for our predictions.

Ben:

It's not a bad rule.

Xhafer:

All right, and so now we have our predictions from this Season five,

Xhafer:

episode five, knowing we've got Season five, episode 13, and the finale left

Ben:

We're almost

Xhafer:

daytime, Todd dies.

Xhafer:

He's getting killed.

Xhafer:

It's gonna happen,

Ben:

Oh yeah.

Xhafer:

evening.

Xhafer:

Walt Jr slash Flynn learns the truth about his dad

Ben:

Hmm.

Xhafer:

and prime time Hank kills.

Xhafer:

Walt adopts the baby.

Ben:

Okay.

Xhafer:

for the finale.

Xhafer:

I don't think that's happened in next episode, but we'll see where it

Ben:

All right.

Ben:

Well, my daytime, Hank and Marie, keep the baby.

Xhafer:

Okay?

Xhafer:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

I'm almost ready to give you that point.

Ben:

my evening, Flynn learns that his dad was doing, but not, Skyler's involvement.

Xhafer:

see we have the same prediction there.

Ben:

Mm-hmm.

Ben:

Very close,

Xhafer:

Well, I, I specify he just learns the truth about his dad, so

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

I do think Skyler will remain, uh, out of that.

Ben:

my prime time, the gang frames and kills Lydia.

Xhafer:

Oh, that's, that, that feels on brand.

Ben:

Yeah.

Xhafer:

All right.

Xhafer:

Well, we've got season three, episode 13, TELI,

Ben:

Can you spell that?

Xhafer:

t o apostrophe, H A J I I L E E.

Ben:

Okay,

Xhafer:

Things heat up in unexpected ways.

Xhafer:

That's it.

Ben:

that's it.

Xhafer:

it.

Xhafer:

It's our last up before the finale and I'm really looking forward to

Xhafer:

watching it cuz haven't had a chance to do that with the way this works.

Xhafer:

Obviously we can't, get there getting to the finale.

Xhafer:

It's exciting.

Xhafer:

I'm excited Ben.

Xhafer:

Just like, I'm excited to thank Ripe for giving us their song
